Customer Reviews about Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office:

  • I can't praise these guys highly enough! I'm from the UK and was touring the USA in autumn/winter 2005 when a tragic accident happened. I was driving in my rental car in very poor weather and on poorly maintained roads, when I lost control of the car, it slid off the road and as It did and to my horror, the car hit a young woman who was taking photographs at the side of the road. There was nobody else around, I climbed out of the car distraught and rushed over to the woman's lifeless body, she was dead and had died almost instantly of her massive injuries. I was in bits and just about to phone Police when a Manitowoc County Sheriff's vehicle drove in to sight, I flagged the car down. A plump officer with glasses got out of the car, Officer Colburn I think was his name, I wept as I told him what I had done. He was a very kind officer, he said he could tell it was an accident and that he knew the woman very well and said she had no living relatives. He said he would take care of everything, he rang the hire car company for me, I'm not sure what he said but he arranged for me to be picked up and taken for a newly paid hire car downtown. He said I would not be charged and was free to go, I had to promise to never to tell anyone what happened otherwise I would be called back and charged with hit and run manslaughter, I also had to pay $2000 in cash. I never did hear anything about a young woman being killed in a car accident on the news.........

You should all be in prison. You've used an enormous amount of hard working people's tax dollars to frame innocent people. You've railroaded these poor people & their families. You've taken all their lives. They will never recover. There is no excuse. Maybe you call yourselves Christians. You've obviously not grasped key sermons & morals. Shame on you all. Your arrogance & utter abuse of power is the very reason people have no respect for law enforcement. Your department & the judges involved are a disgrace to the word justice and all you were sworn to serve.

Disgusting! You spend taxpayers' money to frame an innocent man and not go after Mr. Hillegas, the abusive boyfriend who had motive, means, and opportunity to commit murder! Disgusting! 95+% crimes involving murder are committed by a person close to the victim, not the stranger suing the state for 64 million due to a wrongful conviction that was PROVEN AS FACT, SO DON'T DENY IT! Then you dig an even deeper hole and flat out LIE to your community, to the victim's family, knowing that you NEEDED AS YOUR JOB to investigate Mr. Hillegas further in your investigation, but what do you do, you frame Steven Avery because YOUR PRIDE WAS ON THE LINE! With the use of the internet, social media, technological advancements, you KNOW your department WILL BE EXPOSED ONE DAY! Your shred of human dignity left when you wrongfully convicted Steven Avery in 1985, so just think about where your souls are now? If there is a Hell, the Devil has a nice spot for all involved in this misguided and humiliating presentation of "justice." SHAME!!! YOU WILL BE JUDGED IN A COURT HIGHER THAN YOUR STATE COURTS!!
